DVD Photo Gallery?

What software is there to make a photo gallery/slideshow on a DVD, that will work in a standard DVD player?

I’ve tried a couple programs before (I don’t remember their names, it was several years ago) and they were horrible, crashing all the time or taking forever to deal with galleries that had a few hundred pictures in them.

Any suggestions? I’d prefer a free program, but I’m willing to pay up to $200 for one that will give professional looking results.

Have you used Windows Movie Maker that comes with Windows XP (sp2 and higher)?

It can make great slideshows and save them for burning to DVD with a DVD authoring program or direct to DVD if you have Windows Media Center edition.

I don’t remember the newest version Movie Maker 2.1 have built-in DVD burner. ACDsee is a good tool for browse pictures. There are many slideshow software, such as Adobe Premire,Microsoft PhotoStory, Proshow Gold. Now I use Wondershare Slideshow Builder 3.5.0. It is easy to use and powerful, but I don’t think it is a professional slideshow software. However, I love its 3D transition effects, easy photo editing, quick video trimming, free download menu templates and built-in DVD burner, it can burn slideshow to DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-ray DVD.
