Photo Gallery

I’ve struggled with this for over a week, but I am at my wits end! In the nicer flash photo gallerys, the swf file references a "photos" folder that you can update via an xml file. Godaddy tried to get you to pay monthly for their photo gallery service, so they make it difficult for you to set this up on your own. I can upload the swf flash gallery file, but I can’t get it to reference the photos. How do I get it to link to the photos?? I uploaded the xml file but I don’t think it’s seeing it. I can upload the photos but I don’t see any way to link to them. I’m new to all this, but I’m a pretty sharp guy and I just can’t get it working.

Is anyone using a nice flash gallery for godaddy’s website tonight that can give me a hand? What’s the trick to get this to work?? Help !!!

Or does anyone have an .FLA flash gallery code that has the photos embedded within the code that I can just go in and swap out for my photos and save as an swf?? Kind of the long way to go, but once I set this up, there are going to be very few changes, if any.
I am looking for a SPECIFIC answer relating to godaddy’s WEBSITE TONIGHT.

They let you upload swf files but I don’t see how you link to the photos themselves

ON TV right now there’s a commercial for a dell laptop that has windows live photo gallery in it and you get a free camcorder with each one you buy when you call or order now. What is windows live photo gallery? I’ve got a Toshiba laptop. In about August 2007 when I got it, this laptop was the leading innovation. IT’s got windows vista home basic. What is windows live photo gallery? Will I find it on my laptop? The only software that this laptop came with is McAfee Virus Scan and there was also the wild games game console. Nothing else though. I have Windows Photo Gallery but that’s different. Is it a different version or something? I’ve got the windows photo gallery in my laptop but I don’t know if that’s any different. On the laptop on TV, the guy had a button on the top and clicked on it. The button said Publish. Then he clicked on Publish to the web. What is that? Is that different from my laptop? Will I have to purchase it? Please tell me.

I’m not sure but I think it’s a program that lets you share and show pictures to your friends who are using Windows Live i.e. MSN.

Does anyone know how i can add a photo gallery to my website ?

I’d love to hear from anyone who sells their photos this way. Which websites do you recommend and why? How much money do you make? Are there any sites that allow you to negotiate prices for commercial use licenses of your photos? Any thing else you can think of that may be helpful to me?

I live in NYC and I have a series of digital images at 300dpi and I would like to get high quality professional prints to present in a gallery show, but I have no experience with photo printing. Any ideas for printing services or presentation recommendations?

dpi means absolutely nothing about photo quality or fitness to print at large sizes. I can set a 30×40 pixel photo to 300 dpi…

For gallery prints you will need at least 3000 x 2400 pixels, and more is definitely better. And you will need to have them professionally printed. Be sure to talk to the gallery first, many won’t accept prints unless they were in on the printing process.

If you already have a gallery working with you they likely have a print service company they prefer. And they will dictate the matting and framing they require.

If you don’t have a gallery yet, call a few and ask which print companies they use. They will be glad to recommend the ones they think are best.

I have Windows Photo Gallery on my computer and I also had a bunch of pictures that I had don’t want showing up on there that were in my Pictures folder. So I removed them from the Pictures folder to another place but they are still in the Photos Gallery!

I just want to remove them from the Photos Gallery not my hard drive.

did you tried right clicking on them and choose "delete/remove picture from gallery" or something like that?

I loaded my pictures to my computer from my digital camera. The pictures are still in the Windows photo gallery but my destination is my email and facebook accounts.

there should be an "attach files" button on any email site, and Facebook has a site on your profile, not your home page, but your profile
